To support our customer, an intergovernmental organization and international financial institution, we are looking for a:
Full-Stack Software Engineer- Normal
TASKS:
- Design, develop, and implement new web-based applications and tools within the MARS Crop Yield Forecasting System.
- Lead the design and implementation of the new JRC MARS Bulletin web platform, ensuring integration with existing AGRI4CAST tools and dashboards.
- Review and improve existing architectures, workflows, and software solutions based on user and technical requirements.
- Define and implement scalable system architectures, RESTful APIs, and integration solutions for interconnected information systems.
- Develop, test, maintain, and enhance both front-end and back-end components of web applications.
- Design intuitive user interfaces and optimize user interactions across web platforms.
- Apply security and data management best practices, including authentication, authorization, validation, monitoring, and secure data handling.
- Ensure application performance, reliability, and cross-browser/device compatibility.
- Perform software maintenance, troubleshooting, bug fixing, and continuous improvements.
- Support the enhancement of existing AGRI4CAST tools, including the Pasture and AOC applications.
- Manage cloud-based deployments using CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies.
- Produce technical documentation, software architecture documentation, and contribute to user guides.
- Develop operational procedures to support data workflows and day-to-day software operations.
- Deliver demonstrations, training sessions, and technical support to AGRI4CAST project teams.
- Collaborate daily with scientists, IT specialists, and external contractors, and participate in project and ICT meetings.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Good knowledge of architecture best practices and patterns;
- Experience in designing, building, and securing RESTful APIs and web services, including OpenAPI/Swagger documentation;
- Excellent knowledge of integration testing best practices;
- Good knowledge in web security and authentication;
- Excellent knowledge in Angular, JavaScript, Vue.js, HTML, CSS, and related libraries (altogether at least 6 years);
- Very good working experience with Git and Github;
- Experience with Agile development, design patterns, domain-driven design, Python;
- Experience with Git workflows (GitFlow, trunk-based);
- Knowledge of cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and experience with deploying and managing applications in a cloud environment;
- Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for developing and deploying applications.
CERTIFICATES AND/OR STANDARDS
- AWS Certified Developer - Associate
- Certified Senior Vue.js Developer
SKILLS:
- Good writing skills: documentation is part of the tasks;
- Excellent problem solving skills, ability to apply high quality standards;
- Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in web-based and cloud development;
- Ability in applying security and cloud best practices.
- Ability to participate in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users, good inter-personal and communication skills;
- Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment and experience in working in team;
- Rapid self-starting capability, autonomous and accurate working style;
- Excellent team player;
- Ability to understand, speak and write English;

Language knowledge: English B2+
Office: Far-site service provision with possible on-site presence as deemed necessary during the execution of specific contract. The written request for on-site presence on the specific dates will be sent at least 14 calendar days in advance.
Minimum level of qualification: University degree corresponding to Level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework (which typically corresponds to a bachelor’s level or 3 years of higher education) and minimum 7 years of IT professional experience
